A reprinted bound manuscript of Dr. John Everard's translation of the corupus hermeticum in 17 chapters.
The corpus is a very famous and influential group of treatises thought to have been composed around the 2nd-3rd century A.D. by one Hermes Trismegistus, an Egyptian sage of the highest order.
The corpus is a series of tracts espousing a primarily gnostic view of religion and philosophy. Some are in dialogue form of a teaching from Hermes to his son Tat. They are famous as the foundation works of alchemy, mysticism, renaissance magic, and modern occult traditions.
The book is printed on 24lb. parchment paper and bound with metal chicago screws. It measures approx. 8.5" x 11". It contains numerous medieval and renaissance illustrations of Hermes and some alchemical imagery. It is 85 pages in length and printed in a font reminiscent of scribal writing. Alchemical suns head each page.
Great as a conversation piece or for anyone interested in renaissance magic, literature, art, book arts, alchemy, occultism, esoterica, philosophy, or ancient history. Has the look and feel of a real manuscript.
